Privacy

We do not provide any information to anyone for any reason.

Processing and Shipping Times

All of our kits are custom built per order.  In most cases, all kits with the exception of large kits are shipped with 3-5 business days.  Components and kits in stock typically ship the same or next day.  If there is an additional lead time, as is the case for large custom kits and component packages, we will let you know when you place your order.  This shipping time excludes weekends and holidarys.  Regulator ground service is handled via USPS, UPS, or FEDEX.

Eastern Voltage Research does not guarantee shipping or processing times.  All lead times are estimates only.

Shipping / Handling Charges

Domestic shipping will be shipped via USPS priority, USPS first class, UPS ground, or FEDEX ground.  Eastern Voltage Research reserves the right to choose the appropriate shipping service for the product and destination.  If a customer requires a specific shipping service, they must contact the sales department at the time of order.  Depending on shipping service selected, additional shipping charges may be required.  Shipping and handling charges reflect both actual shipping charges as well as handling, packaging, and transportation time for package drop-off.

Large components or kits may require additional shipping charges.  If you're order requires additional shipping charges, you will be invoiced separately for the balance in shipping.

Backorders

All partial shipment backorders will be shipped via regular ground service at our expense. 

International Orders and Shipping

All foreign orders are shipping via USPS international priority or international first class unless otherwise noted.  The custom is wholly responsible for all custom duties, brokerage fees, import taxes, VAT, and GST charges that are imposed after the sale.  Also, note that shipping charges estimated for international shipping during the checkout process are estimates only.  If additional shipping charges are required for your particular order, you will be invoiced separately for the balance in shipping costs.  Eastern Voltage Research does not guarantee shipping or processing times.  All lead times are estimates only.

Order Cancellations

Before you submit an order, please make sure you really want it.  Once we have begun processing an order, a 25% restocking fee will be applied, prior to any refund.  If you do not agree with this policy, please do not order.

Legal Status of Products

It is the responsibility of the Buyer (not Eastern Voltage Research) to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, and federal laws in regard to the possession and the user of any item or kit that is offered for sale.  Consult your attorney regarding local, state, and federal laws prior to ordering.  By placing an order, the buyer represents that he/she is of legal age and that the products will be used in a legal manner.

Electronic Kit Limit of Liability

Our range of electronics kits are intended for educational and amateur / hobbyist use only.  They are  not intended for use in commercial or public display applications.  If they are used in such applications, the purchaser assumes all responsibility for ensuring compliance with local laws.  When a product is supplied in kit form and assembly or construction has commenced or the inner component packages have been opened, we are unable to offer any form of refund, replacement, exchange, or free repair.  This is because we cannot guarantee or control the method in which the kit was assembled.  Component packages should be checked against the components list supplied and any shortages or damaged components must be advised to us within 7 days of delivery date to ensure free component replacement.

Kit Reliability

Our range of electronics kits are intended for educational and amateur/hobbyist use only.  The operational reliability of these kits is dependent solely on how the kits are built and how they are operated - both aspects which we at Eastern Voltage Research, have no control over, therefore, we cannot guarantee the reliability or proper operation of these kits in any way, for both short term and long term operation.  Therefore, we do not recommend the use of our kits for long term demonstration purposes, such as exhibits in both commercial, private, and public venues including museums.

Limitation of Liability

The customer will be responsible for ensuring the fitness for purpose of the Goods for the customer's application.  Eastern Voltage Research accepts no liability whatsoever or howsoever arising in respect to loss, damage, or expense arising from errors in information, or advice provided whether or not due to Eastern Voltage Research's negligence or that of its employees, agents, or subcontractors save for any loss or damage arising from personal injury.  Eastern Voltage Research shall not be liable to the customer by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent), or any implied warranty, condition, or other term, or any duty at common law, or under express terms of contract with the customer, of any indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage (whether for loss of profit or otherwise), costs, expenses, or other claims for compensation whatsoever (whether caused by the negligence of Eastern Voltage Research, its employees or agents or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the supply of goods or their use or resale by the customer.  The entire liability of Eastern Voltage Research under or in connection with the contract with the customer shall not exceed the price of the goods except as expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Parts Substitutions

Eastern Voltage Research reserves the right to substitute components in all electronic kits and assemblies offered provided that the functional performance of a kit is not diminished in any way.

Electronics Kit and General Return Policy

If you feel, for any reason, that  you will have difficulty building any kit based product purchased from us, you can return it for a refund minus shipping costs and a 30% restocking fee provides a Return Authorization (RA) number is obtained first from us by email.  The items must be returned to us (and insured against damage in transit) at the customer's expense and received by us in original condition with all product packaging, documentation, and a copy of the original sales invoice within 14 days of the original invoice date.  We will not accept any returned kits where the ESD package has been opened.  International customers are responsible for all return shipping, customs, import duties, taxes, VAT, and GST charges.  The RA number must be clearly stated on the shipping package.  Kits may not be returned for any form of refund or credit once the inner component packages have been opened or assembly or construction has started.  Eastern Voltage Research reserves the right to reject any returned item at any time for any reason, even if an RA number has been issued and return shipping to the customer will be at the customer's expense.

Components Return Policy

Individually purchased components may not be returned for any reason.  If you do not agree with this policy, please do not order.

Miscellaneous

Prices are subject to change at any time.  Product styles and parts lists may vary.  New Jersey orders must add 7% sales tax.  If tax exempt, please include a resale certificate.  We assume no liability associated with product usage.  The buyer is liable and responsible for any loss, damage, or expense of any kind, arising out of the use or misuse of the products.  By placing an order, the buyer signifies agreement to these Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Promotional Use of Customer and Client Information

Eastern Voltage Research may use customer and client information, as well as submitted photos and videos for promotional use on our website or other social media platform.  Last names will never be published without prior permission from the individual.  Customers and clients may opt out of any promotion that we may publish on our website or social media platform by simply sending us a request by email.

Mains Powered Projects

To ensure your safety, please observe these safety measures.  In no way are these complete.  As safety requirements vary, please check with your local authorities in order to comply with local requirements.  If in doubt, seek the help of a qualified person.

Due to their nature and function, some electronics kits and devices require mains power (115VAC or 230VAC) to be connected directly to the kit or assembly.  Extreme care should be taken when assembling and testing these kits.  Mains power must be treated very carefully.  It is strongly recommended that you have previous experience of working with mains powered equipment and/or circuits prior to attempting assembly or operation of these kits or devices.  Mains power can cause serious injury including death and must therefore be treated with extremely caution.  Construction, testing, and use of these kits should only be attempted by competent individuals and/or under the supervision of someone fully experience in this area.

To ensure electrical safety, and also protection from fire or personal injury, make sure your mains powered equipment complies with the safety recommendations below:

  • Use a suitable non-conductive enclosure.  If a metal enclosure is used, be sure that the enclosure is properly grounded to earth ground.
  • Use a power switch for any device that consumes more than 10 watts of power.  A double throw switch should be utilizes for mains operated, transformer-less connections.
  • A fuse or circuit breaker should be utilized in series with the mains switch. 
  • Use a suitable mains power connector and/or a UL compliant three-conductor power cord which is clamped to your enclosure.
  • Use properly insulated and sized wire when making any mains powered connections inside an enclosure.

Eastern Voltage Research accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage of any kind as a result of the purchase, assembly, or use of any of our products.

Eastern Voltage Research is not responsible for typographical errors or for incorrect information which may be communicated either verbally or written (i.e. email) regarding product or support inquiries, including pricing and production information.

Eastern Voltage Research reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions of Sale at any time and without notice.
