We are bringing back one of our first high power plasma speaker systems - the Plasmasonic CW audio modulated Tesla coil - CW meaning continous wave. The Plasmasonic CW is a high power plasma speaker system capable of creating serious volume including bass. When coupled with a second system, amazing stereo effects can be produced. The amount of high voltage plasma this creates is enormous. Being a continuous wave (CW) Tesla coil, the duty cycle or average power of this plasma speaker is very high as opposed to a DRSSTC system which has a very low duty cycle. In fact, despite this Tesla coil is only creating about 1-2 inch arc around metal loop, the average output power exceeds that of our Plasmasonic 1.0 system which creates 6 feet of arc!
The Plasmasonic CW utilizes a high power full-bridge and an efficient Class-D PWM audio modulation stage for creating high quality audio modulation. Use a single Plasmasonic CW for mono operation or two of them for amazing full stereo. These plasma speakers have a switching frequency of approximately 350kHz, so there will be some audible hiss generated from the plasma, but that takes away nothing of the sheer awesomeness of this high power Tesla coil plasma speaker.
The electric field from the Plasmasonic CW is very large and this can illuminate all sorts of neon tubes, fluorescent tubes, and from quite a long distance as well. The output arc is a very thick bushy flame which is visually impressive. It also creates a large amount of ozone, so proper ventilation is a must for this plasma speaker.
